Your Child Can Become a Red Panda Ranger at the Utica Zoo

International Red Panda Day is coming up on Saturday, September 15th. Your kids can help in the celebration by bringing awareness to Red Pandas and becoming a 'Red Panda Ranger.'

Who wouldn't want to bring awareness and help out these adorable creatures?! I'm talking about the endangered Red Pandas. And we're so lucky to have a pair of these cuties right in our area, in their exhibit at the Utica Zoo.

Not only can you spend a wonderful Saturday afternoon wandering around the zoo, visiting all the animals, but you and your family can learn more about Red Pandas during "International Red Panda Day." And like we mentioned earlier, your kids can become Red Panda Rangers. According to the "International Red Panda Day Celebration" Facebook Event Page,

A Red Panda Ranger is a special title given to children who help spread the word about red pandas. Join the Utica Zoo for special activities and presentations from Keepers throughout the day. Bring the kids to become a Red Panda Ranger and meet Muse and Ming-Yue.

The Utica Zoo is open from 10am to 4:45pm on Saturday, September 15th. Cost is $8 for adults, $4.75 for children 3 to 12 years of age, and free for kids under 3. There are also admission discounts for students, military, and seniors. You can get more details on those discounts by visiting: UticaZoo.org. And of course if you're a member of the Utica Zoo, this event is free to attend.

Although I'm not a kid and can't become a "Red Panda Ranger," I'm still going to have to take a trip to the Utica Zoo for International Red Panda Day. It's a great excuse to head to the zoo, and of course check up on those precious little Red Pandas. Maybe if I lie about my age, they'll let me become a Red Panda Ranger??
