Lady Gaga‘s meteoric rise from struggling artist to international sensation is large enough that Lifetime wants a piece of the action. That’s right — the cable channel is making a movie about the star’s life. Currently titled ‘Fame Moster: The Lady Gaga Story,’ the biopic will document Mother Monster’s transformation from Stefani Germanotta, singer in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, to one of the biggest pop sensations of all time.

Maureen Callahan’s unauthorized Gaga biography ‘Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga’ will be the basis for this made-for-TV movie.

Gaga is reportedly not involved in any way with the Lifetime project, suggesting that the movie’s producers may have trouble securing the rights to her famous music.

As of now, there is no timetable for the movie’s release, nor any hints as to who will be playing pop music’s leading lady on screen.
