Lady Liberty’s Torch Will Now Have Webcams
As heard on your information update this morning, internet users will now be able to see the view from the Statue of Liberty’s torch when five webcams on it will be turned on Friday (October 28th) during a ceremony to commemorate the statue’s dedication 125 years ago. The webcams, which will be on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, will offer four views, including a 180-degree view of New York Harbor, of visitors on Liberty Island below, and of the torch itself and Lady Liberty’s tablet.

Friday’s anniversary ceremony will also include a water flotilla, actress Sigourney Weaver reading Emma Lazarus’ famous poem and a naturalization ceremony for 125 candidates for citizenship from over 40 countries. Wow, I’m feeling really patriotic right now.
