It's been an awfully quiet winter so far in Central New York.  Will that change with a new snow storm expected to impact the area on Wednesday?

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow advisory for most of the day Wednesday from 6AM to 11PM.

2-6 inches of snow is expected along with blustery winds that would cause blowing snow.

Southern Oneida, Madison, Onondoga and Chenango counties are under the advisory.

From the NWS/Binghamton

A lake effect Snow Advisory Means Lake effect snow is forecast
that will make travel difficult in some areas. Lake effect snow
showers typically align themselves in bands and will likely be
intense enough to drop several inches in localized areas. Use
caution when traveling.
