This spring, you can live like you're on a tropical vacation... Right in the Catskills! The largest indoor water park in our state is getting ready to open their doors.

Who wouldn't want to get away for a few days, especially during our cold and snowy winters?? Your chance to warm up is coming up, when The Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Water Park opens in March.

This indoor water park sits at a perfect 84-degrees all year, so you'll definitely be up for some water slides or just relaxing in a bathing suit by the pool. And speaking of water slides, this park has some pretty sweet rides, from racing a friend (or your spouse) on the "Jiggerty-Jaggerty," to sliding up a wall (think the "Tornado" at Darien Lake), where you feel like you're going to fall right off the slide! But not all the slides and attractions are high-thrill. There's also "Kartrite Island" for the kids and "Puddle Ducks" for the real-little ones.

And no water park would be complete without a lazy river. Of course Kartrite will have one of those, but they also have an indoor beach, complete with calming waves.

Did we mention that the water park is included with your stay at the hotel? Because that's pretty cool.

But it's not just about the largest indoor water park in New York. This hotel has a bunch of other activities for both kids and adults. According to The Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Water Park's website, the resort also has:

[Their] signature S’more experience, ropes course, rock climbing walls, mini bowling, Virtual Reality adventures and a mega arcade...

a luxury spa, innovative eateries, and golf at the world famous Monster Golf Course...

So where will you find this amazing escape from winter?

Luckily it's not too far from our area, but it's still a little bit of a drive. The Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Water Park is in Monticello, which is just under 3 hours away from the Utica area. It's right next to the Resorts World Casino, so if you would like to take a break from hanging by the pool, you can go get your game on.

This could be the perfect family mini-vacation for these cold months, especially if you can't make your way to a place that's actually warmer like Florida or the Caribbean. And seeing as you won't have to purchase a plane ticket to get to the Kartrite Hotel, you'll be saving a little bit of money. And I don't know about you, but I could definitely use some 84-degree weather. I don't care if it's artificial.
