This Friday, September 19th, 2014, plan on enjoying a very special event. Many of our local amateur hockey players will gather at The New Hartford Rec Center at 7:30pm for the inaugural “Hockey Fights T1D” (Type 1 Diabetes) fundraiser. You are going to enjoy watching the action while helping to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or, the (JDRF of CNY).

You can find out more and let them know you plan to help with a visit to their Facebook page. Feel free to reach out to Matthew Roach if you need more information at HockeyFightsT1D@gmail.com.

Matthew is a parent of a 4 year old type one diabetic son. He has teamed up with the players to raise awareness. Roach also heads the team “Logan’s Heroes” for the local JDRF walk which happens the following day, Saturday, September 20th at the Masonic Care Community in Utica.

In 2012, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation provided over $110 million to T1D research...and we can improve on that this year. It all starts Friday September 19th at The New Hartford Rec Center.  See ya there!
