The 2010 census data is out and the village of Monowi, Nebraska is the smallest incorporated populated place in the United States, just one resident.  Monowi is in farm country in the northern part of the state.  The village had 2 residents in the 2000 census, Rudy and Elsie Eiler.  Rudy passed away leaving Elsie as the lone resident of the village.

By comparison, the smallest incorporated community in New York State is the town of Red House in Cattaraugus County.  The town near Allegheny State Park and south of Salamanca has just 38 residents.
