It's a heartwarming story in today's society. A man who was desperate for money to help make ends meet for him and his wife, had to sell his wedding ring. People came together though, to bring back this man's ring and help him and his wife out.

Police were called to a home in Cornwall, Ontario back in January last year, and what they found was a sad look at how some elderly couples are trying to survive.

The man had told police that he had to sell his wedding ring in order to get food for him and his wife. His wife, who he had been taking care of was very sick, and suffering from dementia.

When police heard the story and saw how they were living, they knew they had to find a way to help.

First, a group of people and officers gathered money together, so they could buy back the man's wedding ring. Then police tracked down where the ring was and bought it back with the money they had gathered.

That's not all they did, though. According to Inquisitr,

They were also able to get in touch with the Alzheimer’s Society and the Community Care Access Centre, and put the couple on the organization’s radar for help with food and other health needs.

We hear a lot of heartbreaking news, especially news that makes it feel like everyone is just looking out for themselves in this world. Stories like this - when the police and citizens come together to do something great, just reminds us that there is still so much good in this world. Another great example of it - Faith in Humanity restored! (again).
