Also, Modern Rock pioneer and Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed has died at age 71.

USA Today Reports:

Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, director of the feature documentary film Lou Reed: Rock and Roll Heart, confirmed Reed's death Sunday to USA TODAY.

Reed had a liver transplant in May, although a cause of death has not yet been released.

As a 30 year radio personality I must admit I'm deeply saddened by this loss. I recall playing Lou's music on the radio over my career. Songs like "Sweet Jane", "I'm Sticking With You" and my favorite "Take a Walk On The Wild Side".

You will be missed Marcia and Lou.
