Pop music gets made fun of a lot for sounding so much the same (although I don't agree with that... there are SOME songs that are a lot alike). A Canadian rock/pop band decided to show us all those similarities with 'Pop 101.'

I stumbled on this song pretty randomly. I like Marianas Trench so while listening to some old favorites, I found this newer one. I fell in love with it instantly. It's funny. They show what a lot of songs are doing out there - over-exaggerating 'crutches' that some artists use in the music industry.

This parody brings pieces together from a variety of artists like Mumford and Sons, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke and Pitbull. Now, it is a parody - they are making fun of pop music, but they are a pop/rock group themselves (so I guess that makes it okay in my book).

So here it is - every pop song ever - summed up in one song, thanks to Marianas Trench.

Pretty funny right?! And it's all in good fun! Don't get me wrong - I love a lot of the pop songs out there, I just love the way Marianas Trench overdoes it in this song. Hope you enjoyed it, too!
