The Washington Post says the Polar Vortex will return to the U.S. this week. This hasn't happened since January and is a rare summer time occurrence. It will move into the Great Lakes region, near us in the Mohawk Valley first before it heads to the East Coast. Temperatures are expected to be between 10 and 30 degrees below normal. Brrrrrr.

So if you hear friends and family complaining about how much cooler it is than it should for be this time of the year, blame it on the polar vortex.

Temperatures could drop to sweatshirt weather by Tuesday, when an unseasonably cool pool of air is expected to reach the northern and northeastern U.S

This has got to be one of the coolest year's on record for Central New York.
