If you were looking to go to the Miller Mills Ice Harvest on the 12th, you may have to change your plans. WIBX is reporting that for the third time in seven years, the annual event has been cancelled due to mild weather.

Organizers have been forced to cancel this year’s event, scheduled for Sunday, February 12th, due to a lack of ice. It’s been really nice here in Central New York, and we haven’t had enough ice.

Although there is some ice on the pond, the shoreline is open and presents a serious danger to workers and visitors. With no serious cold spell on tap over the next ten days, the group says it had little choice but the cancel the event.
