This year the New York State Fair will host concerts on the Talent Showcase Stage. They are being revamped and will be known as the Midway Music Series. The concert series will have several performances by local, regional and national touring artists from a variety of genres. It is anticipated that the number of shows will increase from 2011's 6 to 9 this year. That means more free live music for fair goers!

Last year Bruno Mars did a free show drawing thousands. I wonder if we'll see a rising star top Bruno's draw this year.
The first confirmed shows of the Midway Music Series are pop/punk bands, The Downtown Fiction and We Are the In Crowd.
"The Midway Music Series is a great addition to the Fair," said Dan O'Hara, Director of the State Fair. "Being able to offer a wide variety of free entertainment in this economy gives Fairgoers more opportunity to enhance their experience."
