If you came upon a crash, what would you do? Every morning commuter drove around an accident this morning in Rome. Everyone but one.

Sheri Taylor came upon a car that crashed head-on into a telephone pole this morning on Floyd Ave as she was taking her daughter to school. "He had hit the telephone pole and the pole was broken and laying in the road with the power lines hanging across the road," says Sheri. "It must have just happened as I was the first car to come up on it."

Not a single other person stopped to see if anyone was okay or if they could help. Everyone seemed to have their own agenda. I think that bothered me the most

After putting on her flashers Sheri called 911. Traffic started to pile up and Sheri says she was shocked by the reaction of drivers. "People were so impatient. They were trying to maneuver and go around only to realize the power lines were in the way. Some even went around the right of the crash, driving over the curb and on the grass. A Birnie Bus even tried to go around. A car coming from the other way ignored me flashing lights and honking and drove right through the power lines and kept going."

Luckily the RFA student involved in the crash wasn't injured but Sheri says "not a single other person stopped to see if anyone was okay or if they could help. Everyone seemed to have their own agenda. I think that bothered me the most."

Rome police, fire and an ambulance were all on the scene within minutes.

A round of applause to Sheri, the only good Samaritan to stop. "I didn't do anything heroic or special, I just did the right thing and taught my daughter how to be a good citizen," she says. "I'm just thankful he walked away from it. Cars are replaceable."
