I usually poo-poo studies because it seems like you can cite a study to support (no pun intended) just about any position, but this one takes the cake in my mind due to it's longevity. Over the last decade-and-a-half, Some French researchers concluded that bras actually do the opposite of what they're supposed to do?

This flies in the face of centuries of some sort of over-the-shoulder-boulder-holding or another but facts are facts. Here's what the lead researcher had to say:

"Medically, physiologically, anatomically - breasts gain no benefit from being denied gravity. On the contrary, they get saggier with a bra," Professor Rouillon told France Info radio on Wednesday. After regularly measuring women who were not wearing bras the scientists concluded that "on average their nipples lifted on average seven millimetres in one year in relation to the shoulders.

I'm not sure how this is possible, maybe if the 'girls' have no support they actually pull up more on their own?? I dunno, I'm thinking they'd be all National Geographic sometime after a girl has her first kid or if she's already top heavy, not to mention if she's into running.. I heard that HURTS without support! Well the study involved 130 women aged 18-35 and here's what one of the study participants said, a 28 y/o who hasn't worn a bra in a couple of years:

"There are multiple benefits: I breathe more easily, I carry myself better, and I have less back pain,"

Can't get any simpler than that. Of course this only applies to younger women whose breasts haven't started their downward trend to the knees the good doctor says. So ladies, if you're looking for simplicity (and wanna save some bucks) now you can burn your bra for a reason other than being mad at us guys. And speaking of us dudes, if this study is convincing enough for you, we will miss your bras too, maybe wear them for us every now and then, K? However, if you didn't wear them we wouldn't have to struggle with undoing the clasp in the back anymore!
