National Wear Red Day Is Coming Up Next Month
January is zipping by and it’s not too early to think about what’s coming up next month. Groundhog Day, the Superbowl, President’s Day, Valentine’s Day and National Wear Red Day all happen in February. National Wear Red Day is Friday February 1st. What’s it all about?
National Wear Red Day is to raise awareness about heart disease, which is the number one killer of women. One in four women will die from heart disease but the good news is it’s preventable. Talk to your doctor and know your heart risk. Don’t smoke, find the time to exercise, eat right and take care of your heart. According to the National Institute of Health, The Heart Truth created the Red Dress in 2002 to remind women to be heart healthy and to take action to prevent heart disease. Both men and women are encouraged to show their support by wearing red on February 1st. Hopefully one day we’ll beat this killer and can wear red in celebration.
