Neon Utica Comets Jerseys and Equipment Are Coming Back

Remember those black Utica Comets jerseys with neon green and dark gray accents? That attire is coming back for the 'Save of the Day Foundation' night in less than two weeks.

And it's not just the jerseys, it's the whole outfit: helmets, socks, gloves, everything. Not only will you be able to see this awesome equipment, you'll get the chance to take some of it home with you. But we'll get to that in a minute...

Here's what you need to know: The game is Saturday, January 20th at the AUD, against the Syracuse Crunch. According to the Utica Comets' website, a portion of the proceeds from the Save of the Day Foundation Night will benefit the Oneida County Sheriff's Law Enforcement Foundation.

Now we're sure you're wondering how you could possibly score some of that unique neon Comets gear. Well, according to the Utica Comets,

Save of the Day’s main fundraising event will begin on Friday, January 12, when the Comets will begin sales for their first ever Save of the Day 15th Anniversary raffle. 3,924 raffle tickets (the exact number of seats in the Adirondack Bank Center) will be sold for $20 a piece for your chance to win game used player jerseys, helmets, gloves, sticks, and socks as well as Save of the Day night custom nameplates and pucks*, all autographed.

So you definitely won't want to wait to get your raffle tickets. Those tickets will be available at the box office, the Save of the Day Foundation window, and through staff members of the Utica Comets. You can also get those raffle tickets during the Comets games prior to the Save of the Day Foundation Night.

And in case you're wondering, no, you don't have to be present to win. Although, who would want to miss the Comets taking on the Crunch, all while wearing this unique neon equipment?!

Last year was the first year the Utica Comets introduced these special jerseys and gear. The equipment was auctioned off after the game with proceeds going to the Save of the Day Foundation. Here's the video of the announcement from last year:
