Seth Garrett, a junior at New Hartford High School, teamed up with Schoen Brothers Sports in Marcy after learning the Utica lacrosse program was in desperate need of lacrosse sticks.

Garrett spent several hours refurbishing old lacrosse sticks his family has collected over the years in order to help out. He also partnered with Schoen Brothers Sports in Marcy, and they donated an additional 8 brand new lacrosse sticks, along with several sets of arm pads, heads, and stringing/netting materials.

Seth said “This donation was meant to help inspire the growth of lacrosse in the area”. “Without a stick kids can’t even give it a try”. He later goes onto say that he and his older brother started refurbishing their old sticks last season but it wasn’t until this past February when he was reminded of the project by an email that circulated through the New Hartford program indicating the need for donated items to support the Utica program.
