New Telemarketer Law In New York State

For years it was a reason not to answer our home land line phones.   Then many of us began using caller I.D.   Now, the calls come to our cell phones and many times they have phony caller identification information.

That will change, and for the better.  According to Syracuse.com,  new law was passed yesterday by the New York Senate that makes it illegal for telemarketers to hide their identity with the phony caller I.D. information.

The law will take effect immediately if and when Governor Cuomo signs the legislation
