New York Legislation To Ban Cat-Declawing Introduced By Manhattan Assembly Woman

Do you believe that cat's shouldn't be declawed? You're not the only one. Manhattan Assembly woman Linda Rosenthal just introduced some legislation in New York that would ban cat-declawing. 

According to the NY Daily News, Rosenthal introduced legislation to ban the procedure unless it is done to remove a tumor or other medical reasons.

"It's like taking off your first knuckle," Rosenthal said. "(Cats) are born with claws and they are meant to have claws. It's cruel to remove them for the sake of human convenience and saving your furniture."

Rosenthal's bill has not been introduced into the state Senate as of 1/14, but we will keep an eye out for this.
