The Big Apple is right where it should be on financial website WalletHub's list of 2018's Most Fun Cities in America. But, New York should be embarrassed about one aspect of its impressive finish in this study.

New York City ranked #1 for Entertainment & Recreation, #2 in Nightlife & Parties, and #3 overall. Other fun cities that beat out Manhattan for overall fun were Orlando and Las Vegas at #1, mostly due to more favorable scores in the Costs department, in which the Big Apple was #182--dead last among cities in the study.

According to WalletHub's research, Americans spend about $3,000 annually on entertainment, so the aim was to provide some info on where people's hard-earned, expendable income could best be spent.

WalletHub says the methodology of the study included 65 metrics in such diverse areas as "fitness centers per capita to movie costs to average open hours of breweries."

The bottom three cities for fun were Bridgeport, Connecticut, Oxnard, California and Pearl City, Hawaii.

What do you think are the most fun towns in Central New York?
