Believe it or not, a Long Island, New York woman is claiming she was fired after she donated a kidney that helped save her boss's life.

In a complaint filed with the New York State Human Rights Commission, 47-year-old Debbie Stevens says her boss used her for her kidney and then fired her 'after the woman got what she wanted.'

The divorced mother of two made an offer to donate to Jackie Brucia before she returned to work for her at a car dealership. Three weeks after donating, Stevens returned to work while Brucia was still recovering at home. When Stevens went home sick three days later, Brucia called her and said, 'What are you doing? Why aren’t you at work? You can’t come and go as you please. People are going to think you’re getting special treatment.' When Brucia returned to work, she’d yell at Stevens over alleged mistakes. Stevens was eventually demoted to a car dealership 50 miles from her home in a high-crime neighborhood that her co-workers jokingly called “Siberia.'' She was fired after she consulted with a lawyer.
