Are you afraid of school cafeteria food? My Mom was a lunch lady growing up, I often wasn't too afraid of what was inside the kitchens. After I read this next story, I started to think twice. Are Central New York schools serving expired lunch meat? They did to kids in  Tennessee.

Perez Hilton reports that recently it was discovered a school district in Tennessee served six-year-old pork to elementary school students. Would you want to eat pork that was that old?

A school commissioner summed up the situation pretty perfectly, saying:

"These high-schoolers — they understand if they see something they are not going to like, they don't eat it. But when you get to these kindergartners, first- and second-graders, do they really know if the meat is bad or not?"

A concerned cafeteria worker and parent exposed this horrible secret because they felt "no child deserves to eat meat that's almost a decade old". Perez also reports that no kids got sick from this.

It has me thinking though....how old is the meat your kids are eating in Central New York schools?
