New York’s One World Trade Center Will Be America’s Tallest Building

New York's One World Trade Center is on track to being America's tallest building.  When construction is finished, One World Trade Center will also be the third tallest building in the world.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat has decided to include the 408 foot needle on top of One World Trade Center as part of the building's height., which puts it at the top of America's tallest buildings.   How tall is One World Trade Center?  A staggering 1776 feet, which surpasses Chicago's Willis Tower at 1451 feet.

Willis Tower, which used to be called the Sears Tower,  had been America's tallest building for forty years but that reign has now ended.

One World Trade Center, which is built on the sight of the September 11th attacks in NYC, is scheduled to open in January.
