Hollywood Now Has ‘No Kardashian Parking’ Signs

The Kardashians are in the news once again, but this time it wasn't for something they did. 'No Kardashian Parking' signs have been seen in Hollywood (and no one's complaining).

Poor Kardashians (yeah, right). It looks like a street artist in Hollywood is taking credit for posting up the "No Kardashian Parking at Any Time" signs all around the area. This isn't the first time the artist (known as 'Plastic Jesus') has pulled a stunt like this. He has done a few other pranks around Hollywood, but all with a powerful message behind them.

According to billboard.com the artist got the idea for the signs a few weeks ago.

He was driving along Melrose Avenue when traffic came to a stand still. A swarm of paparazzi had descended on some storefront as one of the Kardashian sisters walked out and he couldn't help but wonder, "How has this become a news event?"

The artist believes our society has become so obsessed with Hollywood life and celebrities that most people care more for that, than actual news stories. He is the same artist that created the "Stop Making Stupid People Famous" operation.

"Stop Making Stupid People Famous' often gets blogged as a criticism of the Kardashians," Plastic Jesus says. "But that piece is also meant to criticize us as consumers. Without us, there would be no market for the Kardashians. We are equally, if not more so, to blame."

I have to say, the artist does have a point. I don't see anything wrong with enjoying celebrity gossip, but when we pay more attention to that than what's actually going on around us... that's when there is a problem. I think as society we need to have a good balance between the two types of stories - news and entertainment. If we can balance that, then I think we're doing okay.
