The National Weather Service in Burlington, Vermont has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of Northern New York including Hamilton, Essex and Clinton counties Tuesday night through Wednesday for a mixed precipitation event that includes show and ice.

Update: Northern Herkimer and Fulton counties are now in the advisory area

The storm could bring 4 to 8 inches of rain and heavy, wet snow to the Adirondacks generally east of NY Route 30 and north of Route 28.  Thanksgiving travel on Interstate 87, US 11 and NY Route 3 could be affected.  The New York portion of the storm is the tail end of a weather system that is forecast to bring hazardous driving conditions for much of northern New England.
