The Notre Dame Lady Jugglers are all set for the final four Class B State Championship Games getting underway today at Hudson Valley Community College near Troy, NY.

Utica's Notre Dame High School sent their girls basketball team off to the State Championship Final Four yesterday with a rousing pep rally.  The team was escorted to the Thruway by Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, an engine from the Utica Fire Department, and a patrol car from the Utica Police Department.

The girls play Tamarac High School today at 11:45.  The winner advances to the state championship game on Saturday.

The Lady Jugglers have had a remarkable year again.  The won the Tri-Valley League tittle after going undefeated in league play.  They followed that up by winning their third Section III title in five years.

The team is led by senior Emily Durr who set the school's scoring record this season.  Fellow seniors Jackie Hajec, Alexis Patterson, and Katie Buschmann are joined by junior Anari Harris to round out the starting five.  Senior Maggie Sehring played a major role all season before being sidelined by a wrist injury.  She'll still be an important presence in the locker room and on the bench today as she watches her younger sisters, Katie and Claire, both major contributors off the bench.

Coach Mike Plonisch, also a Notre Dame alum, will be designing the game plan.  Lets all cheer on the Lady Jugglers as they represent our area at this elite level of scholastic sports.  Go Jugglers!
