Oneida County Sheriff’s Investigate Fatal Accident In Forestport

A Town of Remsen man was killed Tuesday morning in a one-car crash on North Lake Road in Forestport.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 40-year old Bryan Owens of Kayuta Lake lost control of his vehicle, which went off the road and hit an embankment and several trees before coming to rest.

Owens, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected onto the passenger floor compartment of his vehicle.

A landing zone for a Mercy Flight helicopter was manned in the Town of Trenton, but Owens died during transport.

Deputies say the investigation is continuing, however, they say alcohol and unsafe speed were factors in the accident.
