The Oneida Nation Police Department is holding a Prescription Take-Back Day at The Turning Stone Resort Casino. One of the biggest problems this area is facing is prescription drug abuse and one solution is to get unused and unwanted prescription drugs off the streets.

These events are always a great success. The DEA began hosting National Prescription Drug Take-Back events in 2010. At the previous nine Take-Back Day events, 4,823,251 pounds (2,411 tons) of unwanted, unneeded or expired medications were surrendered for safe and proper disposal. By properly disposing unwanted pills and other medicine it also prevents the potential risk of harmful consumption by children.

If you have any prescriptions you need to dispose, you can attend this event at Turning Stone this Saturday, September 26th. The event is going on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To drop off your unused or unwanted medication just drive up to the loop outside the Event Center.
