Perhaps bored with the view from her typical acrobat's altitude, P!nk sinks to the streets in the new video for "What About Us," her politically charged comeback single that heralds the left-behinds, the oft-forgottens and all those beautiful misfit toys.

In the clip, released today (August 16), Pink and a crew of dancers are scoped out by police spotlights projected from helicopters overhead. Eventually, though, the group stops trying to escape the lights, and, instead, treats them like welcome magnifiers of dissent. Each dancer sorts through obvious grief with isolated movements that eventually leads the group to a barren desert.

"I'm just gonna say this; I'm so proud to be a P!nk fan for so many years. She really is the real deal!" one YouTuber commented on the clip, while another noted "Love the message this song gives...so refreshing to have a song which gives such a beautiful message, along with a video which is so powerfully choreographed."

And it's very likely you'll see the live counterpart to the "What About Us" video in a few short weeks — MTV announced yesterday (August 15) that Pink will be the recipient of the next Video Vanguard Award at the 2017 Video Music Awards "for her trailblazing impact on music, pop culture, fashion and philanthropy," according to an MTV statement. The show will air August 27 from the Forum in Inglewood, California.
