Poland Girls Win New York State Soccer Title
Poland, NY (WIBX) – The Poland Central Girls Soccer team caputred the New York State Class D Championship Sunday with a 3-2 double overtime victory against Chateuguay.
Tara Seigle had two goals, including the game-winner in double overtime. Mikayla Blumenstock added a goal for Poland and Alyssa Lepper had an assist.
Goalie Courtney Green stopped seven of the nine shots she faced.
For Chateaugay, Alexis Beach had two assists, while Katie Beach and Brianna Cook each had a goal.
It’s the first state soccer title for the school.
