President Barack Obama’s Name Spelled Wrong on Ballots Printed by Oneida County

Despite having been checked and double checked, the ballot prepared for the November 6 general election has Barack Obama’s name misspelled.

The president’s name is listed as “Barak Obama.”  The error appears on all of the ballots that are on display on the county’s Board of Elections “Sample Ballots” website.

The county’s Election Commissioner tells WKTV that the ballots have been sent to Albany for printing and it’s unknown if the error was caught before the printing process began.  If not that may mean extra printing costs for the county.
