Just because Ezra actor Ian Harding has confirmed that he's signed a contract for Season 5 of 'Pretty Little Liars' doesn't necessarily mean his character will live through Season 5.

In fact, it would be even more evil if they revealed this information only for us to discover that Ezra would only be back in flashback form.

So is it true?

As Troian Bellisario (who plays Spencer) deviously tweeted after shooting an episode for Season 5:

Which of course was in response to an Instagram photo of Harding on set.

We can't tell if she's trolling us or not to be honest.

Here's what we know: in the Season 4 finale, Ezra was shot trying to redeem himself and save the girls from a cloaked figure (whose identity as "A" he claimed to know). As a result of his gunshot wound, Ezra will be in the hospital in the opening of Season 5.

Marlene King has teased that she plans to feature Ezra in the show's very first Christmas episode, but if that's a flashback as well it doesn't necessarily mean Ezra will survive his hospital visit.

Furthermore, if he were to recover he could tell the girl's "A"'s supposed identity which would make for a lackluster mystery. Suffice it to say, it might be better for the show's continued intrigue if Ezra dies. Unless of course he's in a coma for the majority of the season. Or gets selective amnesia.

As per usual we will have to wait and see. We wouldn't put anything past the writing team at this point.

'PLL' returns on Tuesday, June 10 to ABC Family at 8PM ET.
