Purple rain fell as Niagara Falls turned purple on the day Prince died. Ironically it was to celebrate the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Niagara Falls Illumination Board announced earlier in the week the Canadian Horseshoe falls would turn purple for the Queen's birthday. It was just an eerie coincidence it occurred the day Prince died.

New York Honors Prince

Prince was honored all over the world, especially in his home state of Minnesota. New York's Empire State building turned purple, The Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square remembered the legend and subway signs were even altered.

Prince in Space

Prince was even remembered in Space as NASA tweeted a photo of a purple nebula.

Prince in Syracuse

Prince performed to a sold out crowd at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse in 1985. Watch him perform his iconic hit 'Purple Rain.'
