Laurence Segal has been collecting bottles and cans and raising money in the fight against breast cancer. More than $50,000 has been raised, but the fundraising continues.

In July 2015 Laurence Segal of DeWitt told us about his challenge to collect one million bottles and cans and donate the money to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. Well, it's safe to say he not only reached his goal, but surpassed it!

JR and Naomi Lynn from your More Music Morning Show got the opportunity to talk to Segal about his efforts and how he was able to collect SO many bottles. You can hear the full interview in the video at the top of this page.

Segal told JR and Naomi Lynn that he's been working with the Baldwin Fund for 25 years now and even jokes about himself being Carol M. Baldwin's "other son." Unfortunately, collecting all these bottles and cans have taken a toll on Segal's body, and after numerous doctor appointments he found out he had multiple herniated discs on his spine.

Although Segal needs to take time to get his health back, he says he's not done collecting bottles and cans. He wants everyone to know they can still donate and he will still be able to set up something so that the recyclables can be picked up.

You can still donate and help raise money for the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. Contact Laurence Segal through his Facebook Page: Bottles For A Cure.
