There is going to be a few slow spots on the road this weekend and into next week. The trouble spots are in Westmoreland, Rome, New Hartford and Deerfield.

If your traveling in Rome or in the town of Westmoreland today, be prepared for a  Route 233 shoulder closure between Rome and Westmoreland because they are still placing topsoil. This will slow you down a bit.

Also, near New Hartford on Route 5 at the Applewood/Cherrywood intersection drivers will encounter an intermittent traffic signal so expect minor delays until next week when it will revert to full three-color operation. .

Route 8 over S & W Railroad, between Genesee Street and Washington Mills will also be a slow go as you'll encounter a lane closure northbound and southbound 24/7, due to bridge maintenance.
And another trouble spot to tell you about, Route 840 eastbound is have milling and paving work done so expect a lane closure and minor delays.

And in Deerfield, the Miller Road Bridge over Routes 8 and 12 will closed from June 25 until Labor Day, due to bridge deck replacement. A signed detour directing traffic to Trenton Road and Route 8 will be in place.

Drive safely and Happy Fathers Day!
