Rome Couple Sued Over Christmas Lights Display

The Christmas house in Rome, New York that's brought joy and holiday spirit to the community has also brought the owners a lawsuit. Jon Maggiolino and his girlfriend Becky Price are being sued by a neighbor.

Jon and Becky have started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover legal costs. "We are raising money to help cover our legal fees to protect us against a lawsuit from our neighbor," explains Jon at GoFundMe.com.

"We are reaching out for help because the lawsuit against us has arisen from our Christmas Light display at our house in Rome, NY which was created to benefit the community," writes Jon.

The Rome community lined the street for the official flip of the switch this past season. "We had people coming up to us last summer asking if we were doing it again so we went all out trying to impress them more," says Jon. "We also give back collecting toys and cash for Toys for Tots."

The Rome couple is now asking the community for help. "We are asking for help because we are law abiding citizens trying to do something nice for the community and do not have extra money for our legal fees.  We are not sure how much this will cost when all said and done but any help would mean the world to us.  We love our community and will be tremendously thankful for your support."
