The Root Farm in Sauquoit has added a ropes course to their facilities that will be accessible for everyone, including those who are handicapped.

It's the first of its kind in our area, a ropes course that everyone can enjoy, and when The Root Farm says everyone, they mean it. According to The Root Farm's website, the ropes course will have high level and low level courses, a rock wall, a zipline, and many other components. There will also be "challenges" and obstacles to move over and around including things like a cargo net and broken bridge.

There are quite a few ropes courses and challenge courses throughout the state and the northeast, but nothing like this. What makes the Root Farm's course stand out is their special harness and suspension system, so that people in wheelchairs can experience the FULL course. You can see the layout of the course and everything they have to offer at RootFarm.org.

The Root Farm is a non-profit organization that has many programs for people of all ages and abilities. They offer therapeutic horseback riding, educational greenhouses and gardens, an art studio, and many other amenities and classes. And this ropes course will help them continue to grow their facilities.

You can find the Root Farm on King Road in Sauquoit. If you have any questions or want more information on their facilities, you can call the Executive Director Jeremy Earl at (315) 520-7046 ext. 227.
