I was perusing YouTube the other day, and I came across a video that made me a little curious. What is a Roux dining experience, and is one making its way to Utica?

If you're tired of the same ole same ole, how about trying a culinary creation that will grab your attention, and tantalize your taste buds. I thought I was decent at inventing unusual entrees; (ask me how to make Gatorade basted chicken sometime.)  But I've never seen anything quite like this before!

I think you'll agree that this sample menu from Rouxdining.com is truly unique:

A 7 course, salt-themed tasting menu reflecting Syracuse’s Salt history.

Course 1: Poached cherry tomatoes with celeriac fries

Course 2: Mussel ceviche with mangoes

Course 3: Moroccan flatbread with a harissa date chutney and pistachios

Course 4: Charcuterie plate

Course 5: Squid ink pork buns with pickled veggies

Course 6: Local cheese plate

Course 7: Madeleines with strawberry jam, blueberry compote, and olive oil powder

Roux's chefs are two students named Rohan and Ryn. They're both seniors at Syracuse University who are studying industrial design. They started Roux because they wanted to combine their love for creating hypnotic patterns with their passion for food.

I don't have any facts yet, but based on this video, it looks like Roux will be making its way to Utica!

Just Jen and I talked about his today!
