October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and many businesses and organizations throughout Central New York are "going pink" - Including Sangertown Mall.

The next time you walk through Sangertown Mall, you'll notice something different - They have turned the fountain that resides in the Macy's wing, pink. That's not just all they're doing for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There is a bigger meaning behind the pink fountain.

The mall is asking shoppers and visitors to take a selfie with the fountain in the background and post it on social media using #SangertownGoesPink

Not only will the pictures bring attention to the fact that it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and help spread the word, but Sangertown is also going to donate 25 cents for each selfie to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Foundation provides funding for research about the disease, in an effort to find a cure. The foundation has already awarded more than 72 research grants - For a total over $4 million dollars to medical research.

Sangertown says they know how important research is, and they are proud to take action in the fight against breast cancer.

So the next time you're at Sangertown Mall, make sure you stop at the fountain in the Macy's wing, take a selfie, and post it to social media. Every picture counts.
