In America it really is quite easy to get a divorce. There aren't very many hoops to jump through. Fill out some paperwork, pay a few bucks, and then figure out who keeps the dog and when the kids will visit. Apparently that's just too much for 21-year-old Julia Merfeld of Muskegon, Michigan. In April, she tried to hire a hit-man to murder her husband. You guessed it, she was caught on video saying that killing him is, quote, "easier than divorcing him."

According to MLive, she said:

“When I first decided to do this … it’s not that we weren’t getting along,” she says on the video. “But … terrible as it sounds, it was easier than divorcing him.

"You know, I didn’t have to worry about the judgment of my family, I didn’t have to worry about breaking his heart, all that stuff like this. It’s, like, how I got a clean getaway.”
