If you've driven around Central New York over the last few weeks, you've no doubt noticed a major signing project underway on area roadways. New, larger route signs are being posted and large gantries are now in place in locations like the Route 69/5A junction in Yorkville. But one sign might have slipped engineers' notice.

A new sign was recently posted in Clark Mills at the beginning of Clark Mills Road indicating "TO US 840." Of course, the sign should indicate New York State Touring route shield rather than a US Route shield. I wonder who posted the erroneous sign, NYS DOT, Oneida County or Town of Kirkland?

Sign Goof on Route 12 Detour in Marcy [IMAGE]

If you're following the detour of Route 12 through Marcy and North Utica perhaps you've been confused when one of the signs is for a 'detuor.' The sign goof appears on the exit ramp to Edic Road just before River Road. This is not the only sign mistake you'll find in that part of town involving Route 12.
