Simon Cowell is the expert on music competition TV shows, gifting the world with the likes of the record-breaking ‘Got Talent’ series and the British-Irish heartthrobs of One Direction. The unstoppable mogul is at it again, searching for the ultimate Latino boy band with ‘La Banda.’

The TV personality is launching the new show sometime in 2015 under his company Syco Entertainment. ‘La Banda,’ with the direction of the show’s collaborator, Univision, will look for contestants across North and Latin America that represent Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and the United States.

According to Billboard, Univision President of Programming and Content Alberto Ciurana announced in a statement, “‘La Banda’ will tap into Hispanic America’s passion for music unlike any other program on television and will bring millions of fans the next international musical sensation.”

Simon added, “I’m delighted to be partnering with Univision on this new format. They are fantastically ambitious and most importantly for ‘La Banda’ they are totally focused on discovering and creating the next music superstars. There is a huge opportunity for this band and we are going to be giving the power via this show to the millions of teenage fans.”

The winners of the competition will receive the hefty prize of recording contracts with both Syco Music and Sony Music Latin.
