We kind of figured that the Sitrin Stars would put a beating on the sluggish celebrities at the 14th Annual Celebrity Wheelchair Basketball game. We figured right.

The Sitrin stars are used to winning the Annual Wheelchair Classic and last night was no exception. The celebrity team kept the game close for a minute or two in the second half, but it didn't take long for the Stars to run away with the game. Matt Hubbell proved to be no match for Olympian athletes' Herman Garic, and Jimmy Joseph.

Unfortunately, former Orangemen,  Michael Gbinije and Trevor Cooney couldn't even help the celebrity team win. Shooting baskets from a seated position is a lot more challenging than taking shots while standing, and the Stars thoroughly enjoyed showcasing their superior basketball talents.

Regardless of the outcome, it was all for an excellent cause. According to Sitrin.com, proceeds from last night's event went to:

  • Wheelchair basketball, featuring a year-round schedule of practices and scrimmage games

  • Adaptive paddling instruction, as well as trips to area lakes in the Adirondacks

  • Competitive air rifle shooting for individuals with disabilities

  • Wheelchair curling at the national, international and Paralympic level

  • Wheelchair road racing training for participants of the Boilermaker 15k Road Race Wheelchair Division, including the Boilermaker Wheelchair Challenge, which provides a customized racing wheelchair as a prize

  • Nordic ski and biathlon programs with equipment and competition expenses
