This March snowstorm is packing quite a punch in Utica and throughout Central New York. Many businesses are closed, and snow emergencies have been declared.

The City of Utica jumped on this early, announcing a snow emergency Thursday afternoon (that would go into place 8am Friday morning). But they're not the only ones to announce a snow emergency. As of 11am Friday Morning, these areas have a snow emergency in place:

Village of New Hartford - Until 12pm Saturday
Village of Herkimer - Until further notice

We're sure more will come in through the day, and be sure to update this post with the latest information. And you can get the updated list of businesses that are closed today at the link below:

As for travel advisories, The Oneida County Sheriff's Office posted on their Facebook Page this morning, saying Oneida County is under a travel advisory effective immediately. They are urging no one to travel (unless it's absolutely necessary).

The New York State Police have also posted on their Facebook Page about the weather and dangerous road conditions. They're asking drivers (that must be out on the roads) to use extreme caution, and take it SLOW!

And as always, even if it's the middle of the day, during a snowstorm make sure you have your wipers AND YOUR LIGHTS ON! You may be able to see, but your lights will help other drivers be able to see you.

Again, we'll keep you updated on the travel advisories and snow emergencies throughout Central New York as more information becomes available.

Stay safe!
