Steven Tyler on Idol Boosts Aerosmith Album Sales

Steven Tyler’s announcement that he would join the judges’ panel on American Idol rubbed Aerosmith band mates like Joe Perry the wrong way. They said at the time they felt blind-sided by the announcement and signaled that may spell the end for the group, or at least a cooling off period. Steven’s band mates may want to reconsider their stance after hearing this:
According to the Hollywood Reporter, sales of greatest hits compilations are up more than 200% since the 1oth season of American Idol launched in January. The group’s 2004 Big Ones is up 260% in sales while Aerosmith’sGreatest Hits is up 250%.
