Supercomputer Takes on ‘Jeopardy’ Champions [VIDEO]
February 16, 2011 9:33 AM You may have heard in the morning show over the last couple of days that this week on “Jeopardy,” a supercomputer named Watson is competing against the two most storied players in the history of the game show.
Watson is able to respond in a human voice to Alex Trebek’s answers. And the supercomputer is able to do so quickly enough to often beat the two human “Jeopardy” legends to the buzzer.
After the first day of the competition Watson was tied with Rutter for the lead. Now it appears he is primed to trounce his human opponents. But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the supercomputer. Watson shocked viewers when he stumbled over a geography question. The answer was Toronto, not Chicago.
The final episode of the 3 day match-up airs tonight.
