A suspicious man driving a car around Rome with Florida plates, knocking on doors, has residents concerned.

One concerned citizen in Rome shared her suspicions on Facebook. "This morning this gentleman came to our door claiming he was RFA Early Childhood Development and wanted to speak to us. We did not allow him in the house or give him any information."

The woman says while her husband spoke with the man she took pictures and called the RFA. "I was told they do not have anyone out doing such a thing and they wouldn't."

Calls have been placed to the Oneida County Sheriff's department but the gentleman has a permit to sell books in the area.

Several Rome residents have reported seeing the same man. Annette Morrissey said on our Facebook page, "He just knocked on my door 15 minutes ago. Called sheriff's department. Was told he has already been checked out and has a permit."
