On the hunt for cheap cigarettes, a Syracuse man was arrested earlier this week after he refused to pay his cab fare.

After hailing the cab, the 68-year-old Northside resident asked to be taken to a  store to get cigarettes.  He left the first store empty-handed and requested to go to another store claiming they wanted too much for their smokes.  Empty-handed again after the next store, the man refused to pay the cabbie's $12 fare.  Police were called and the man was arrested.  The kicker?  He was loaded - carrying more than $5,000 in cash on him.
