May 17, 2011 According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a child over 10 years ago with a longtime member of his household staff.
Schwarzenegger told wife Maria Shriver about the child earlier this year, after which she moved out of their Brentwood mansion.
"After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago," Schwarzenegger said in a statement. "I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."
May 10, 2011 Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, journalist Maria Shriver, announced their separation Monday evening in a press statement. The statement makes no mention of divorce, but does confirm that the two are no longer living under the same roof:
